Show #178 (I think) Playlist, etc. + Long-Play Wednesday

Dan Mangan

Dan Mangan

Oh Dan Mangan, swoon me.

Ahem! I mean, it’s the last Wednesday of the month and that means it’s time to get out your good headphones, bring out the good scotch or expensive fancy tea, get comfy in that big old chair you’ve had since you stole it from your parents’ house when you moved out after high school and they keep calling about, but you keep pretending you don’t know what they’re talking about, and prepare for two hours of great music on vinyl record coming to you straight from CJTR, in the mighty GMC tower, high above the glorious Warehouse District of Regina.

Tune in from 4:00 to 6:00 for some of my favourite records.

It’s Hippy Love Fest season! Yay!

All that great spring/summer stuff that we love doing is on. Cathedral Village Arts Fest is on right now (by the way, I’m hosting the CJTR stage from 3:00 to 4:00 during the street fair this Saturday), Mosaic is coming up, Folk Fest is not long after that. I love it all! Music everywhere, people in good spirits, food, culture… bring it on!

That’s kind of sort of what I’m going for today on WPIT?!. Just feeling good and looking forward to better times. Tune in from 4:00 to 6:00 and sing along with everyone, even if you don’t know the words and especially if you do know the words.

Divine Brown

Divine Brown

It’s practically summer out there and all I want to do lately is sit on the porch and have a cocktail or wine or some elixar. Let us get together an enjoy some nectar of the vine! Not big on booze? That’s alright. I enjoy a fine cup of tea just as well.

As you may well know by now, one of my favourite things to do is get very comfortable, put on some headphones, pour a cup of whatever my mood requires, put on some of my favourite music and indulge. Oh, and hopefully it’s possible to do this outside. Bliss!

Even if you can’t recreate this scenario (or perhaps you have a different listening environment in mind), try to get into your surroundings of choice for listening to good music and keep it tuned into 91.3 FM in Regina from 4:00 to 6:00 for a really good listen.

As you can see in the image above that was not stolen from a google search for “zombies”, the zombie apocalypse is upon us.

As a result of this eventuality that we all saw coming (especially me), I’ve decided to temporarily give up my post at the station today, from 4:00 to 6:00, in favour of hand-to-zombie combat. If we lose CJTR, folks, we lose it all.

What Planet Is This?! will not be on the air today. Instead, one of CJTR’s trained dispatchers will be keeping you up to date on deadite spottings in and around Regina.

Here are some survival tips that I’ve picked up, mostly from watching zombie shows on TV and in movies.

1. If you have to travel, be sure to travel in groups. The more people there are around you, the more sets of eyes you have. And we all know that if you all have to run, the slowest in the group is the most likely to be left behind. Stay fit and always stay in the group.

2. Weapons are something you can’t…. wait. I hear something in the hallway…

Must finish blog post.

Weapons are most easily fou…

Oh no…

No wait! You dead bastards! No!!! NNOOOOO!!!!
